My day

I started tutoring today and my Lord did I love it. Working one on one with someone who really needs just is very good. The kid has trouble with math, because numbers are a little too abstract...but we started talking about money, and bingo-girl could divide and multiply. She had no trouble...because money is more real than a symbol on a paper. I think we can really work with this. Next time I'm bringing lots of coins and maybe fake money. Anyone know where I could get fake money by Thursday?

Science Center was a little overwhelming today but so much fun. There were like 70 kids, from 4 to maybe 12, and it was quite an adventure trying to keep all those kids focused and going for all that time. But fun fun. I had them all miming they were stuck in little tiny boxes. I wish you could have all seen it, or that I could post pictures, but you'll have to use your imagination.

Postcards came in the mail today. I've been busy stamping and putting the address labels on. I hope to get them to the post office before they close. Productive day so far, and it's only 3:21.

I've been in such a delightful state of mind lately.

Yay! Sounds like you are having a fun summer! Have you tried the dollar store for fake money? Or Walmart or party city?

Walmart and party city definitely have fake money. You're good at teaching.
